Institutional memory transformed into thematic publications
Four thematic publications were prepared for the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, documenting work carried out across different fields within the institution: Valuable Works of Art, Architectural Transformation, Culture of Hospitality and Garden Art.
Rather than simply presenting activities, the publications adopted an editorial approach that made visible the background of the work, processes of transformation, practical applications and stories embedded in institutional memory.
At Tablet İletişim, we approached the research, compilation, editorial development and visual design as parts of an integrated publishing process. Archives, photographs, technical information and implementation processes were transformed into a fluid narrative through short stories, visual sequences and explanatory sections.
Four different fields, one publishing language
Each publication was structured around the particular world of its subject, while a shared editorial and visual language connected all four.
Photography was used not simply as documentation, but as one of the central elements of the narrative. Technical subjects were supported by stories and examples from practice, allowing the publications to move beyond conventional activity reports.
Four distinct publication narratives were created to document institutional experience and carry it into the future.
Our Role
Research and Compilation: Bringing together archival material, photographs, technical information and implementation processes.
Editorial Structure: Transforming different types of content into a coherent and readable publication structure.
Visual Language and Design: Creating a visual world appropriate to each publication and structuring photography, text and information layers within a shared design system.
Publishing System: Developing a common editorial framework that gave each of the four subjects its own identity while maintaining a clear sense of belonging to the same publication series.
Four publications, four different stories
Valuable Works of Art at the Presidency: Documented conservation, restoration, display and preservation work carried out on the Presidency’s art collection. The publication covered paintings, frames, works on paper, carpets, porcelain, ceramics, glass, metal objects, furniture and other valuable works in detail.
Architectural Transformation at the Presidency: Presented architectural renovations carried out at the Çankaya and Tarabya complexes, ranging from executive floors and reception halls to historic structures and service buildings.
Culture of Hospitality at the Presidency: Documented the often unseen preparations behind the Presidency’s culture of hospitality, from official receptions and table settings to food preparation, ceremonies and service standards.
Garden Art at the Presidency: Documented landscaping, garden design, planting, floral design, organic production and nature conservation work carried out at the Çankaya Complex.
